The National Council of Sport and Recreation agrees to submit to the Hall of Fame of Costarican Sports Clemencia Conejo Chacón, Rodrigo López Pacheco (QdDg) and Jaime Peña Sobalvarro.
This was announced on Monday in a press conference where the Minister of Sports, Carolina Mauri, who explained that the exceptional decision, taken as unanimous agreement, is intended to honor three prominent sports figures; Conejo and Pacheco in the field of academic training, and Peña as one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time.
At the conference held at the National Stadium, Carolina Mauri Minister was accompanied by the Director of the Costa Rican National Institute of Sport and Recreation (ICODER), Alba Quesada, and members of the Sports Council, Heiner Ugalde and Fernando Esquivel.
The official ceremony of admission to the Gallery of Sport will take place on December 10. Rabbit is the member 134 Hall of Fame, 135 and Pacheco Peña 136, since its inception in 1969 as a maximum place of honor where the people of Costa Rica pays tribute to those who have given glory and prestige to the country through sport.
