Luis Mejia (Coopenae Economy) on Friday won the second stage of the Ruta de los Conquistadores and cut some minutes from the overall leader, Luis Leao Pinto from Portugal.
The coffee man with a time of 2:43:56 and got 7 minutes of the Portuguese, who came in third place (2:47:22) and maintains the top with a cumulative (7:22:53) time.
Mejia beat Diyer Rincón from Constructora ARPO, who finished the race in a time of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Behind these two men Todd Wells finished with 2 hours and 47 minutes.
Meanwhile, the women's first place went to Angela Parra Coopenae Movistar Economy, closing the second date retaining the first place on the overall for women.
This Saturday will conclude the Ruta de los Conquistadores with a date that will begin at 8 am starting at Turrialba, directing runners to the Caribbean country to complete in Limon Playa Bonita. In total there will be 120 kilometers.
