The women's volleyball team of Costa Rica scored a major victory against Trinidad and Tobago on September 3-0, which classified to the quarterfinals of the Central American and Caribbean Games.
With scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-14 the ticas corrected the mistakes against Mexico where failures in serves were always a headache for the team.
In its debut the Costa Ricans beat one of the favorites of the group such as Puerto Rico. The ticas managed a tight but significant victory set 3 to 2.
"This is a team sport so the union group was critical to get the result, we grow and improve, we must now wait for the opponent to come, just going out looking to the win," said Angela Willis from Hotel Fortin Flores in the community of Cordoba.
Today Costa Rica will face Cuba for a place in the semifinals, the game is scheduled at 7:00 pm Costa Rica time.
