Gets medal but will come back hurt

Dr. Jose Muñoz, orthopedist of the national delegation confirmed that the lesion of the Costa Rican taekwondista Kristhoper Moitland is a distorting trauma on his left knee.

Last night at the Crystal City Hospital of Veracruz the athlete went on a procedure called arthrocentesis (procedure to drain fluid from the joint), obtaining a hemarthrosis (blood in joint).

"This is very suggestive of a lesion of the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. This will be confimed in the coming days with a magnetic resonance on his return to Costa Rica," said Dr Muñoz.

Moitland was injured in the final of their category +87 kilos facing the Cuban Robelis Despaingne.
The taekwondo delegation won two medals at the regional fair, Amanda Sanchez and Katherine Alvarado.
