Leonardo Chacón of Costa Rica, won Sunday February 1st the Continental Premium CAMTRI Punta Guilarte 2015, held in Puerto Rico.
Although Leonardo's entrance was alone at the finish line after an excellent footrace, was not an easy race because from the beginning he had five tough opponents in the water and on the bike.
Since the first dive into the water five man remained together Leo Chacón, Quinchara (Col), Vergara (Gua), Gonzales (Cub) and Boggs (USA) who in the swim start out in one group with 1min 50 ahead of the second crowd.
"We stayed together, the five in the front of cycling, alternating the tip and in the 20kms the time was extended and we were 2 minutes 4 seconds ahead from the chasing group" Leo commented on his Facebook.
Upon leaving the bicycles, the pedestrian competition started with the 5 protagonists however, the costa rican would have a relentless and devastating jogging of 5 kilometers and in the end gave him the expected result to reach the finish line alone.
That was how Leonardo Chacón of Costa Rica went solo towards the goal leaving the Colombian Quinchara and Cuban Michelle Gonzalez and further behind Vergara and Boggs.
That is how Leo begins with success in 2015 as it did in the past season in January 2014 when he won the gold medal at the Pan American Triathlon Viña del Mar in Chile.
